Tom has always liked the sound of the pipes, so when he was told by his wife Gwen that there was a pipe band playing in the next village he was on his bike to take a look. That was back in 1992. He was delighted when asked if he would like to come along to band practice and took the offer up.
Tom started to learn the pipes, something he never expected to do. A couple of years later the band required a treasurer and Tom volunteered to take up the post. He still has the roll to this day.
While with the band Tom has attended many bookings including weddings at Alerton Castle and Harewood House. Tom also played his pipes while he walked the 3 Peaks for charity.
