David entered the music business quite by accident while working as a bus driver in Leeds during the mid seventies. While driving his bus, a couple of young men got on and were discussing the need of a singer for there new rock n roll band. Someone suggested Dave, and although his only singing experience was in the bath, he went along for an audition and got the job.
He played in several groups until he decided to move to Withernsea where he went solo before semi retiring, only performing on the odd occasion. He has always liked the sound of the pipes and after seeing the Kingstown Scottish Pipe Band he was very impressed.
Sometime later the band approached Dave to ask him if he would take on the roll of compare / singer and he accepted. His enthusiastic approach and singing experience has added to the unique sound of the band.
