About Us

The Kingstown Scottish Pipe Band was formed in 1991.
The original members were from The Humberside and South Yorkshire Army Cadet Force Band, ex members of The Hull C.R.S Pipe Band and ex members of The City Of Hull Pipe Band. The band was led by Pipe Major Ian Small who still holds the position to this day. Over the years  the band took part in many competitions around North Yorkshire and had a few placings in solo, mini bands and full band competitions.

By 2000 the band had seen many changes and had eventually split into two separate bands, both using the original name until 2004.  The band has had more changes since the split, the main one been a change in direction. Although the band still parades with pipes and drums, it also has a party band. The party  band plays all types of music including Rock and Roll and now includes a singer compare.

When performing our party band we are known as The Kingstown Party Pipers. The Party Pipers usually only consists of pipers and singer/compare. Look out for a new section to our website soon with more `Party Piper`' news...
